Missions of the School of Mathematics, IT technologies and engineering:
- To bring up professionals according to modern international standards in the field of Mathematics and Informatics, capable of using their skills and knowledge in future carrier and contribute to form the Georgia as modern and high developed country.
- To give Basic knowledge of Mathematics and computer skills to all the students as Mathematics is the science used in every sphere of human activity, i.e. medicine, economics, social decision-making, agriculture etc.
- To develop informatics and calculating technologies, that make possible to create virtual models for educational process in order to study the situational analysis and problem solving.
GOALS
Goals of the School of Mathematics, IT technologies and engineering:
- To guarantee the improvement of mathematical skills of all UG students in accordance with the modern programs of corresponding school;
- To equip the students with skills of using mathematical concepts and methods while solving the real problem.
- To develop students’ logical thinking, finding the alternative solutions, arguing the righteousness and efficiency of the decisions, explaining and basing the conclusions made by generalization and deduction.
- To improve the skills for analyzing events and facts.
- To train students and develop their skills to divide subdifficult problems into simple stages in order to solve them step by step, using standard approaches and procedures.
- To create corresponding and necessary environment for UG students of any school in order to provide them with an opportunities to acquire computer skills and to use world-WEB of Internet.
- To perform necessary informational systems for each specialties.
- To teach Relativity and Statistics according to the programs for various schools of the UG, so that students become able to analyze effects of accidental factors, make solutions in the unlimited circumstances and take appropriate steps.
- To integrate students in active scientific activities with their participation in local and international conferences.
Nowadays, in the School of Mathematics, IT technologies and engineering, High Professional, BA, MA, and Doctorate Programs are carried on.
Strategic plan of development for the School of Mathematics, IT technologies and engineering:
- To establish new specialties:
A) Applied Mathematics;
B) Mathematics;
- To give opportunity to all the students to become active members of the ‘Scientific-Educational City’ and thus to get the high professional knowledge as well as to develop the love for Georgia and the world history and culture;
- To pay attention to outstanding role of sport in the school programs, as precondition of healthy way of life for future generation.
- To maintain close contacts with the educational bodies in the regions of Georgia and implementing modern methods and skills.
- To contact various foreign universities and participate in exchange programs based on sharing and increasing professional knowledge as well as cultural values;
- To carry on the School’s tradition of inviting youngsters from different countries and teach them according to the programs implemented in our School;
- To continue publishing handbooks in Georgian and to improve already existing text-books – according to the modern demands;
- To integrate lecturers and students into the scientific research activities and projects.
