IT- Service
Since its establishment, the University of Georgia has been focusing on the development of information technologies and the technical equipment of the University. Our University pays a special attention to technical equipment, updating and expand it on a regular basis, diversification of information and communication services, software development and enhancement. All this is done with an aim to make the academic process and the intra-university administrative procedure more effective. All the computers at the university: those used by the staff and those provided for the students - are part of a single university network. The network is connected to outer networks and the Internet. The IT Equipment Maintenance Department is responsible for the development of the network, internet services and technical maintenance.
The University study, library, accounting and other processes are systematized and computerized. All the data is managed through the university databases. The University Database and Programming Manager is responsible for the processes in question.
The University website has developed into a multi-functional and comprehensive opportunity. A big share of the information that is published on the website comes directly from the relevant sections of the University database. At present, the UG website does not merely serve as a source of information. It has now acquired some additional functions, like: online registration of students, freshmen enrollment and others. The University Website Administration is responsible for updating the website and providing a smooth faultless linkage of the data in the databases with the website.
