The University of Georgia employs a modern credit-based evaluation policy, which is based on the experience of American and European institutions:
The credit calculation is based on the European Credit System (ECTs):
- 1 ECT=25 hours
- Out of these 25 hours:
- 5 - lecture hours
- 14/16 hours – individual and practical work of a student, presentation, preparation of a thesis
- 4/6 hours – exams: midterm exam (one or two), final exam
Master’s Program consists of 120, where General Courses are 30 ECTs, Special courses: 60 ECTs, Master’s Thesis: 30 ECTs; out of this: individual lecture-seminar with a supervisor - 6 ECTs; research/preparation and defense of the Masters thesis – 24 ECTs
