On November 19, the University of Georgia hosted the President of the State University of New York – Dr Candy Vanco and Vice-rector - Danis Callas. At a public meeting, the guests and the students of the University of Georgia discussed various issues related to education. It was a lively interactive meeting where both sides: the guests and the audience shared their viewpoints on the experience of the USA in education, the system of education in Georgia, the quality of education and prospects for cooperation

On November 11th, the University of Georgia held a weekly seminar of the School of Humanities on the topic: “The Borders and the Land of Abkahzian Catholicism (IX-XVIII cc)”. The topic was presented by the professor of the University of Georgia Dr. Tamar Koridze. The lecture covered the issues of the territories and borders of the Abkhazian Catholicism throughout its existence.

UG and the University of Scranton (USA) signed the memorandum of cooperation. In the frame of this memo, 10 top rating students of UG will be financed and sent to Scranton for studying

21.07.2009 | ‘Public Health Leadership Institute’ Seminar in Courtyard Marriott

UG, AIHA, Georgia’s Ministry of Health, Labor, and Social Defense joint seminar was held in Courtyard Marriott hotel on July 14-15. The event was greeted by the Minister Al. Kvitashvili, Healthcare Parliamentary committee Chair – Otar Toidze, Director of USAID Mission in the Caucasus – Joachim Parker, UG Chancellor - Edward Raupp, and AIHA Director, James Smith. Some 60 statesmen and private business reps attended the seminar was carried on according to the Healthcare Management Project, supervised by AIHA and with USAID financial support. UG and Scranton University are the participants of the project. In the frame of the project public health administrating MA courses were established. Besides, short-term courses are also in action.
