The University of Georgia employs a modern credit-based evaluation policy, which is based on the experience of American and European institutions

The credit calculation is based on the European Credit System (ECTs):

  • 1 ECT=25 hours
  • Out of these 25 hours:
    • 5 - lecture hours
    • 14/16 hours – individual and practical work of a student, presentation, preparation of a thesis
    • 4/6 hours – exams: midterm exam (one or two), final exam

High Professional Program consists of  120 - 150 ECTs. Evaluation is based on the point system. The maximum score is 100 points/100%. The lowest positive score in a course is 51 points, i. e. 51% of the maximum score. The final exam has a prevailing significance. This means that a student will be considered to have failed a course if he/she failed the final examination, in spite of his/her achievements in all the other evaluation components.
