1970-1975 was studying at Tbilisi State University, Oriental Department -Turkish studies. After finishing she was awarded with Master's Degree in Oriental Countries Studies, Specialization – Turkey.
1975–1979 she continues study at the same university, at PhD program of History faculty, (Aspirature). After finishing, in 1979, she successfully maintains a thesis to become a Candidate of Historical Science. Thesis: "Peasantry in the West of Georgia in XV-XVIII Centuries."
In 2002 she successfully maintains thesis: ''Georgia Chronicles (life of Kartli) and the ancient period of Georgian history (from Kartlos to Mirian), She was awarded with Doctor's Degree in history.
Work Experience:
In 1979-1981 is the laboratory assistant of Historian Faculty at Tbilisi State University.
In 1981-1995 is the junior researcher of Historian Faculty at Tbilisi State University.
In 1995-1996 is the senior researcher of Historian Faculty at Tbilisi State University.
In 1996–2005 is the leader scientist of Tbilisi State University’s Research Laboratory of Historiography and Historical Sources.
In 2002 she successfully maintains a Doctoral thesis: “Kartlis Tskhovreba” (Georgian Chronicles) and ancient period of Georgia (from Kartlos to Mirian)”, for what she is awarded with Doctoral Degree in History.
In 1992-1994 is the main specialist of Georgian State Machinery.
Since 1998 she is the member of “Board of Trusties “of The International Black Sea University.
In 2002–2004 is a professor of Tbilisi State University and Georgian Technical University.
Since 2004 she is a Rector of the University of Georgia.
Is involved in pedagogical work since 1975 to present. She delivers courses in Antique and mid-century history of Georgia and the Near East.
She is a participant of many international conferences.
She has published 45 scientific publications, 6 of which are monographs and a book.
