The University Security Department
 
The Security Department of the University of Georgia was established in 2005. The activities of the Department are regulated by the University Covenant. To address security related tasks at the University, the Security Department uses video surveillance cameras and cooperates with the Security Police. The University Security Department is responsible to:
  • Provide security on the premises of the university; guarantee the safety of the inventory.
  • Guarantee the safety of the University staff and students
  • Control students entering into and leaving the building, using student IT cards
  • Control visitors entering into and going out of the university building, using special one-time cards
  • Make a record of the time when the university staff check in and out and report the data to the Human Resources Management Department at the beginning of every week.  
  • Reveal students who fail to meet the regulations of the university and use relevant measures to address such cases, according to the University Covenant.  
  • Provide timely preparation of student cards for new students
  • Not allow entrance of strangers into the University building
  • Make a record of the damaged university inventory on a regular basis and deliver the information to the Department of General Services
  • Make a record of the time lectures start and finish during the day; in case of violation deliver the information to the Study Process Management Department and the University Rector.
