Course Description:
This is a course in advanced academic writing that will give you the critical and creative skills you need to plan, research, and write a university-level research paper. During the course of the semester, you will read a variety of model texts in various genres, analyze them critically, and then work to adapt the techniques the writers used in your own writing. The assignments will get progressively more difficult, building to a large final research paper written in APA format. Prerequisites: ENGL 1140 – Upper Intermediate

Business English
Course Description:
The course is designed for students who have passed the upper-intermediate level. Due to the combination of grammar syllabus and functional business syllabus, the course provides a systematic coverage of basic language structures and skills. The aim of the course is to help students develop the skills which are essential for them in understanding, using and presenting authentic information in their profession.

ESP for Tourist Guides
This short course gives its students the English language skills they need to act as tourist guides in Georgia. Along with correct grammar, students are taught tourism related vocabulary and are given listening and speaking practice with a native speaker. Included in the training are modules on tourist business related topics and even basic first aid. This is the only course offered in the country that includes such a range of skills and knowledge.

This is a short course for those who know English and are required to write on their jobs. Participants will learn to write, in English, a variety of common documents for businesses and NGOs.

Over forty percent of students who go to university fail during the first semester because they do not know how to study effectively. This short course is designed to give recent school graduates the skills they need to succeed at universities. Students will learn how to manage their time, read and take notes at a university level, listen and take notes at a university lecture, and write in an academic style.
Duration: One Week, 4 hours per day

Over the next few years several four and five star hotels will open in Tbilisi. All of these will need hundreds of workers who know English, French, German, or other languages. Be ready for the day when the jobs open by beginning to learn languages now. Each of our courses uses internationally recognized materials, is taught by a professional teacher, and includes listening and speaking practice with a native speaker.

Teaching Essay Writing in the Secondary Schools
This short course is designed to give serving teachers the skills they need to teach argumentative essays to their students, they kind they must write for the national examination. The teachers are given a foundation in the writing process and then led through the steps needed to produce an argumentative essay.
