The University of Georgia was established in 2004 with a clear and ambitious vision: to create a modern university in Georgia grounded in Western values, where education, freedom of thought, and professional opportunities come together.
The University was founded by Professors Manana Sanadze and Giuli Alasania. It was initially established in 2004 as the School of Social Sciences and, as the institution expanded and introduced new academic fields, it continued its development under the name The University of Georgia from 2007.
Today, the University of Georgia is a modern, multidisciplinary educational and research institution offering more than 80 academic programs across all levels of higher education - bachelor’s, master’s, one-cycle, and doctoral programs. More than 10,000 local and international students study at the University, with programs delivered in both Georgian and English.
