Since 2016, the University of Georgia has marked International Book Day by organizing a Literary Week, within the framework of which the literary competition "Folio" is announced for prospective students and university students throughout the country. As part of the competition, submissions of prose works are invited for consideration for the Folio Prize. The submitted works are evaluated by a professional jury assembled at the University of Georgia.
The theme and conditions of the competition change annually. Entries are assessed according to three criteria:
a) Originality;
b) Creativity;
c) Conciseness.
Each year, hundreds of prospective students and university students participate in the competition. At the winners' award ceremony, all participants receive a special certificate of participation.
