ENHANCE-GSL Final Conference – Connecting Knowledge and Society: The Changing Role of Universities

On September 29, the University of Georgia will host the final conference of the EU-supported international project ENHANCE-GSL, titled “Connecting Knowledge and Society: The Changing Role of Universities.”

The conference will focus on fundamental issues in contemporary higher education:

• Third Mission of Universities;
• Community Engagement;
• The development of Service-Learning.

As part of the conference, partner universities from Georgia, Sierra Leone, Slovakia, and Croatia will present and discuss the project’s experiences and outcomes. The event will also feature the Manual on Community Engagement, a practical guide developed for universities to strengthen cooperation and engagement with their communities.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about:

• New approaches to university–community collaboration;
• Practical examples of Community Engagement and Service-Learning;
• International experience in developing the Third Mission of Universities;
• New opportunities for future institutional and international cooperation.
