On April 4, starting at 09:00a.m. the University of Georgia will host a large-scale teachers’ forum titled “Transitions in Education”, bringing together educators, practitioners, and experts in one space.
The forum will be entirely dedicated to the key transitional stages that shape a student’s developmental path: the transition from kindergarten to school, from primary to secondary education, the final stage of schooling, and integration into university and professional life. The event will address not only academic challenges, but also the important psychological, social, and professional transformations that accompany each of these stages.
The aim of the forum is to unite teachers working across different levels of education in a professional dialogue, in order to strengthen a shared vision of the student’s continuous development journey. Participants will hear expert presentations, engage in thematic workshops, and take part in active professional discussions. The concept is based on the idea that transitions are not isolated individual experiences—they are part of a unified, interconnected educational process, where collaboration among teachers from different levels plays a crucial role.
The forum represents the first activity of a new large-scale initiative — “University of Georgia for Teachers.” The project will run throughout the year and aims to strengthen the professional role of teachers, support them, and foster close partnerships between schools and the university. As part of the project, intermediate educational activities are planned, along with a final annual event — the “Teacher Impact Award,” which will recognize educators whose initiatives have a significant impact on students and the learning process.
This initiative once again highlights the central role of teachers within the educational ecosystem and reinforces the university’s vision to be a key actor in the education system, creating a collaborative and sustainable learning environment.
