UG Engineering Hackathon 2026 Brings Together Young Innovators and Future Engineers
On July 25–26, the University of Georgia (UG), in collaboration with UG School, hosted the Engineering Hackathon 2026.
The event served as a student scientific conference in the field of computer science, bringing together students from various universities to present innovative ideas and research projects. The hackathon aimed to identify and support young inventors, researchers, and future engineers by providing them with an opportunity to develop their skills through practical collaboration and innovation.
Over the course of two days, participants worked on real-world engineering challenges, addressing topics such as water resource accessibility, energy, underground infrastructure scanning, smart transportation systems, engineering safety, and other technological issues.
Projects were evaluated based on their level of innovation, technical complexity, functionality, practical impact, and the quality of the final presentation.
