During May and June 2026, Gnomon Wise, an independent research institute affiliated with the University of Georgia (UG), actively continued its series of weekly seminars and public discussions. Based on the Institute's analytical publications, these events aimed to foster research-driven dialogue on pressing public policy and societal issues.
Throughout the seminar series, participants explored a wide range of timely topics, including the cumulative impact of the legislative amendments adopted in 2025–2026 and their compatibility with constitutional standards; macroeconomic trends and economic development dynamics in the Caucasus region; the application of artificial intelligence in qualitative research and the ethical challenges associated with its use; price instability in Georgia and the role of monetary policy; Armenia's process of rapprochement with the European Union and its geopolitical balancing between the West and Russia; as well as the transformation of the constitutional model of the High Council of Justice in light of recent legislative changes.
The most recent seminars focused on the Foreign Influence Registration Act, examining its political context and potential implications. The findings were also reflected in an international academic publication. Each seminar was grounded in the Institute's analytical articles and research papers, which serve as the cornerstone of Gnomon Wise's academic activities.
The Institute remains committed to organizing regular seminars, thereby promoting research-based discussion and strengthening academic dialogue in Georgia.
