On June 4, 2025, a mock constitutional court trial was held at the Law School of the University of Georgia within the framework of the Constitutional Justice Clinic.
The event was based on the case "Samkharadze and Others v. Parliament of Georgia", which concerns the protection of labor rights of public servants. The Clinic's students prepared and submitted an amicus curiae brief to the Constitutional Court, which was the result of their research and comparative legal analysis.
In the mock trial, students assumed various roles—taking on the positions of judges, plaintiff, defendant, witnesses, and experts.
The participants demonstrated not only a deep knowledge of procedural rules and the ability to apply them, but also thoroughly analyzed fundamental human rights, principles of public service, and essential foundations of constitutional law.
Their presentations clearly highlighted the importance of safeguarding public servants' labor rights in public service and maintaining constitutional standards in lawmaking.
The event was attended by Law School students, professors, representatives of the "Independent Trade Union of Public Servants - Article 78 of the Constitution", and other invited guests. Through the mock trial, the students of the Constitutional Justice Clinic demonstrated practical knowledge of constitutional law.
