On July 15-16, the School of Health Sciences of the University of Georgia hosted the international conference - "Third Annual Conference on Prevention and Management of Poisoning and Traumatic Injuries". The Caucasus Medical Center, Institute for Global and European Health Education and Studies, UG and Georgian Emergency Medicine Physician Association was among the organizers of the event.
At the conference, within the framework of the existing collaboration between the University of Georgia and Emory University, Professor and Toxicologist Ziad Kazi delivered about ten public lectures and presented papers. The professor spoke about drug and radiation poisoning, as well as updated preventive measures during the pandemic.

The University of Georgia officially obtained accreditation to host the conference this year, and will therefore host the fourth international conference next year as well. It is intended for Georgian practicing physicians and students interested in the field of healthcare. The goal of the conference is to share experience and integrate into international innovations.
The doctors participating in the conference were awarded certificates confirming their qualifications in this field, and the attending students were awarded certificates of participation.
