As part of the official meetings held on June 18–19, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Law School of the University of Georgia and the Faculty of Law at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. This agreement provides additional opportunities to implement new bilateral projects for both students and researchers.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the University of Georgia by Ana Khurtsidze, Director of the Law School, and on behalf of the University of Munich by Ansgar Ohly, Dean of the Faculty of Law.
The signing of this memorandum is particularly gratifying for the Institute of Georgian, German, and International Criminal Law, as it is the result of several years of collaboration between the Institute (Prof. Bachana Jishkariani) and criminal law professors from the University of Munich (Prof. Helmut Satzger, Prof. Armin Engländer, Prof. Petra Wittig).
It is also worth noting that, according to the renowned Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich ranks 38th in the world and consistently holds first or second place in Germany.
Such a vote of confidence from the University of Munich toward the Law School of the University of Georgia and our Institute is another important confirmation of the recognition of our academic quality.
