On July 9, 2025, the Human Rights Center at the University of Potsdam hosted the 13th Potsdam Human Rights Day, dedicated to the situation of human rights in Georgia and the prospects for EU integration.
Ana Pirtskhalashvili, Professor at the University of Georgia Law School, presented a paper titled "Human Rights and the Prospects for Georgia's EU Integration".
The presentation focused on Georgia's domestic and geopolitical situation, challenges to the rule of law and human rights, and the role of the judiciary and civil society in meeting EU standards.
During the discussion, participants engaged in an in-depth analysis of specific topics.
Professor Ana Pirtskhalashvili holds a PhD in Law from the University of Potsdam, an LL.M. from Humboldt University, and serves as an expert for international organizations including UNDP, UNICEF, USAID, GIZ, and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.
