On November 6–12, 2023, students from the University of Georgia were on a study visit to Strasbourg.
The visit of three first-year students with the highest academic performance in the Law School—Elene Oragvelidze, Gvantsa Kadagishvili, and Ana Tsinadze—was fully funded by the Law School.
The students had the opportunity to attend the trial of the century held by the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights—Ukraine v. Russia—as well as the conference "The Role of the Council of Europe in the Architecture of European Politics."
Lado Chanturia, Judge at the Strasbourg Court, delivered a lecture for the students titled "Structure of the Strasbourg Court, Admissibility of Applications, and Protection of Human Rights." The educational visit also included trips to the cities of Basel, Stuttgart, and Kehl.
