The University of Georgia Publishing House presented Georgian academic, literary, and children’s books at the Frankfurt Book Fair, held on October 7–11, 2026. Its collection covered a wide range of subjects, from historical and legal research to works on art and the heritage of the Georgian diaspora.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is one of the most important events in the global publishing industry, bringing together thousands of publishers, authors, literary agents, translators, and book industry professionals from around the world every year.
The collective stand organized by the Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association brought together ten member publishers. The University of Georgia participated in the event as a partner of the Association. The stand was supported by the UNFPA Georgia Country Office as part of the Joint UN Programme supported by Sweden. The stand’s central message, “Resistance Through Resilience,” was dedicated to Georgian women who fought to protect rights and freedoms and made significant contributions to shaping the country’s democratic future.
The University of Georgia Publishing House held professional meetings with international publishers and academic institutions to explore opportunities for translation, the sale of publishing rights, and joint publishing projects. These efforts aimed to make the works of Georgian authors and knowledge developed in Georgia accessible to a wider international audience.
