Giorgi Matiashvili is a psychiatrist currently working at the Rustavi Mental Health Center as a Coordinator of Multidisciplinary Community Service Teams. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU), he continued his postgraduate training through a residency in psychiatry. During his residency, he further developed his clinical knowledge as well as his experience in the organization and management of mental health services, working across inpatient, outpatient, and community-based mobile mental health services. Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in education and academia. As an invited lecturer, he teaches students at the University of Georgia (UG), Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU), Ken Walker International University, and New Vision University. He is currently a PhD student in Public Health at the University of Georgia (UG). His primary research interest is the economic evaluation of mental health services from a public health perspective. As a member of both national and international professional organizations, including the Georgian Psychiatric Association and the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP), he is actively involved in professional and educational initiatives. He regularly participates in international congresses, workshops, and training courses and has a particular interest in clinical and public health research.
