David Bujiashvili
David Bujiashvili holds a PhD in Economics and has extensive academic and professional experience in European integration, public administration, and institutional development. His areas of interest include EU policies, enlargement, neighbourhood policy, Association Agreements, EU accession issues, public administration, policy planning, institutional reforms, and inter-institutional coordination.
He has 25 years of experience in public service, including service in senior and managerial positions. Throughout his professional career, he has been involved in Georgia’s European integration process, legal and institutional approximation with the European Union, public administration reforms, policy coordination, and the management of EU assistance programmes.
From 2017 to 2025, David Bujiashvili served as Director of the Department for EU Assistance Coordination and European Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. From 2011 to 2016, he held the positions of Adviser to the State Minister for European Integration and Director of the Department for EU Programmes Management. Since 2004, he had served in various positions within the Office of the State Minister for European Integration.
Since 2022, David Bujiashvili has been engaged in academic activities and, as an Associate Professor, delivers lectures in various subjects at ALTE University in Georgia. He is the author of around ten publications, including the handbook “7 Steps to Understanding the European Union,” published in 2024.
David Bujiashvili holds the diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary.
