On May 7, an official memorandum of cooperation was signed between the University of Georgia and the Sukhishvili Dance Academy.
The partnership aims to promote creative education, support talented young people, and expand professional opportunities in the field of choreography and performing arts. The memorandum was signed by the Rector of the University of Georgia, Konstantine Topuria, and the Director of the Sukhishvili Academy, Nino (Ninuka) Sharashidze.
Within the framework of the partnership, the parties will jointly develop a bachelor’s program in Georgian and World Folk Dance Choreography, offering students a practice-based and creatively rich learning environment. The collaboration will also focus on preserving and promoting Georgian traditional and world folk dances as part of intangible cultural heritage.
The partnership includes professional practice opportunities, masterclasses, seminars, festivals, folklore expeditions, and joint creative projects. Students and applicants will also have the opportunity to attend rehearsals and gain real professional experience.
The cooperation provides special benefits for applicants recommended by the Sukhishvili Academy, simplifying parts of the admission process for the program.
