We are pleased to announce that all participants of the current TOLES course have successfully achieved Band 1 (Excellent) on the TOLES Higher International Legal English Certificate Examination. This clearly demonstrates their acquisition and strengthening of high-level professional skills in legal English.
The Autumn 2025 cohort completed an intensive, 10-week Higher Level certification course. The program included individual diagnostic assessments, multiple mock examinations, and comprehensive course materials to ensure the maximum enhancement and deepening of the participants' knowledge and skills in both oral and written legal communication throughout the course.
The course is led by Tsira Chorgoliani, a highly qualified TOLES-certified trainer and lecturer at the Law School, who brings years of experience in teaching legal English as well as academic and legal writing.
Notably, the TOLES Legal English Center at the University of Georgia is the first center in the Caucasus region to receive international authorization, back in 2015. Several times a year, the center offers legal English preparatory courses and globally recognized TOLES certificate exams at the Foundation, Higher, and Advanced levels.
Over the past ten years, the center has made a significant contribution to refining and strengthening the verbal and written legal English skills of UG law students, Georgian judges, judicial assistants, and practicing lawyers. Additionally, each semester the university fully funds the TOLES exam fee for three Law School students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance.
