On March 4–8, 2025, the Law School of the University of Georgia hosted the world's oldest and most influential international law school mediation competition. This prestigious and large-scale student competition is organized by the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR, USA), and we are proud to be their partners. The competition’s history dates back to 2002; traditionally, it is held every even-numbered year at Loyola University Chicago, and during odd-numbered years, at other leading universities around the world. We succeeded in bringing the hosting honors to our university this year. We hosted 22 teams—including students, professional mediators, and judges—welcoming around 130 guests from various parts of the world, including America, Europe, and Asia-Africa.
As part of this project, organized by the University of Georgia and the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR), an international conference titled "Redefining Peace: The Modern Art and Science of Conflict Resolution" opened on March 4. To explore the concept of peace from various perspectives, the conference brought together experienced practitioners and scholars from various leading universities.
The event covered strategies for negotiation, mediation, and dispute resolution. Furthermore, conference participants shared valuable insights with the audience on how peace can be maintained or restored between parties in today's complex landscape.
